Purpose

To ensure the optimal functioning of First Base's plant and equipment, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Liaise with the Manufacturing Engineer to ensure all equipment meets legal requirements and coordinate with insurance inspectors as necessary.
  2. Update and maintain accurate records of equipment and plant maintenance.
  3. Conduct regular testing of fire alarms and emergency lighting.
  4. Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
  5. Support the environmental policy and emergency preparedness procedures.
  6. Identify and address manufacturing challenges, implementing short-term and long-term solutions.
  7. Collaborate with the Logistics Manager and Chief Maintenance Engineer to schedule and complete repairs.
  8. Report repair completion to Logistics and Chief Maintenance Engineer.
  9. Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as agreed upon in BIC meetings.
  10. Assist the Development Team with projects, such as oil systems and roller boxes.
  11. Ensure staff have a planned workload and conduct regular appraisals.
Required Skills and Experience

Engineering: Press design and construction, fabrication expertise.

Electrical Knowledge: 18th Edition certification preferred.

Maintenance Engineer: Strong maintenance record-keeping skills, including PPM and breakdown maintenance reports.
