About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Hospital Unit Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and manage the Eye unit and Keats House, ophthalmology department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations of the Eye unit and Keats House, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of services.
  • Liaise with ophthalmology Matron, General Manager, Service Manager, and Assistant Service Manager to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, staff engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Trust policies, including Health & Safety, Infection Prevention Control, Confidentiality, Data Protection, Attendance Management, Risk Register, and Incident reporting.
  • Liaise with Keats House Landlords and their team to maintain the unit.

Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse with NMC.
  • Leadership course or management experience at B6 level.
  • Ophthalmology Knowledge and Experience.
  • Managing Clinical audit, clinical governance, Infection Prevention and Control, and research for units/wards.
Interview
  • Experience/knowledge of running nurse-led Pre-assessment clinics in NHS.
  • Management of patients in outpatient settings.
  • Experience of dealing with incidents, serious incidents, harm reviews, and writing Rapid review reports and closing incidents and managing risk register.
  • Workforce planning and experience in recruitment and Attendance management.
