We are currently looking for a Transport Operations Coordinator to oversee our logistics activities.

As a Transport Operations Coordinator, you will be stationed at the entry point and will be responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing shipments, welcoming visitors and contractors, overseeing the shunting team and operations. You will also be tasked with maintaining the yard management system across various locations. Your role will involve planning assignments, distributing tasks to transport providers, generating reports, and ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment for all personnel. Collaborating with a team-oriented mindset is essential to deliver exceptional service to all clients while fostering trust and respectful business relationships.

Compensation and Benefits:

We are offering a competitive salary of up to £26,000 annually. Additionally, you will receive 25 days of vacation (plus public holidays), with the option to purchase extra days. Your Daily Responsibilities:

  • Ability to respond and adapt positively to customer demands in a dynamic environment.
  • Maintain consistent communication regarding planning adjustments and service delivery with both clients and supplier transporters.
  • Manage and uphold yard management systems effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with a flexible approach to working hours, demonstrating commitment to meet varying business needs.
  • Ensure optimal and efficient use of planning and yard management systems, adhering to best practices and general housekeeping standards.
  • Recognize the strengths and weaknesses of team members, providing support to achieve both business and personal objectives.
  • Continuously seek to enhance the services provided by offering suggestions and recommendations as needed.
  • Proactively prevent incidents and minimize risks by ensuring adherence to Company Policy, Health & Safety Standards, and housekeeping protocols across the platform.
  • In addition to the responsibilities outlined, the job holder may be required to undertake other tasks assigned by their manager as necessary.

Qualifications for Success at XPO:

  • Experience with yard and planning management systems.
  • Desirable experience in transport planning within a third-party logistics environment.
  • Familiarity with transport planning software.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with clients.
