About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Scunthorpe Schools. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work under the guidance of senior staff to provide support to pupils with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish Positive Relationships: Establish positive, productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and promoting restorative practice.
  • Support Pupils: Support pupils with consistent, unconditional positive regard, identifying and responding to their individual needs.
  • Use Specialist Strategies: Use specialist SEN and behaviour strategies, including Team Teach, to support self-regulation and de-escalation in accordance with school policies.
  • Attend to Pupils' Needs: Attend to pupils' personal needs including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters.
  • Develop and Implement Plans: Assist with the development and implementation of relevant education, behaviour, health and support plans.
  • Provide Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support including, for example, the monitoring and recording of behavioural incidents.
  • Liaise with Parents and Carers: Liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers.

Requirements:

  • Valid Team Teach Certificate: A valid Team Teach certificate is required, or be willing to undertake training.
  • DBS: A valid, Update Service registered DBS is required, or be prepared to undertake a new DBS application through Provide Education.
