Software Tools Developer for Rockstar Games

Rockstar Dundee is seeking a talented Tools Programmer to join our team of passionate developers.

We are dedicated to creating world-class entertainment experiences, and our tools play a vital role in bringing those visions to life. As a Tools Programmer, you will collaborate with artists, programmers, and designers to build innovative software applications that empower the development process for Rockstar Games projects.

What You'll Do:
  • Collaborate closely with various game development disciplines to design and implement tools that streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our existing toolset and actively contribute to its evolution by learning new technologies and implementing improvements.
  • Participate in defining architectural patterns, design principles, and frameworks that promote efficient and maintainable software development practices.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize user workflows and enhance the overall quality of life for developers within Rockstar Dundee.
  • Ensure the ongoing maintenance and support of our applications throughout their lifecycle.
What We're Looking For:
  • A strong foundation in Computer Science or a related field, coupled with relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in C# and the .NET framework.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality work within established deadlines.
Plusses:
  • Experience with WPF, XAML, and the MVVM pattern.
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Experience developing applications that interact with external services.
  • Knowledge of RPC frameworks such as WCF or gRPC.
  • Experience with ORM frameworks like NHibernate or Entity Framework.
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerization technologies.
  • Experience with automation and CI/CD systems.
  • Previous experience in the games industry, particularly with AAA titles.
  • A genuine passion for technology and gaming, with a deep appreciation for Rockstar's products.
