Job Opportunity: Associate Tutor in Lacanian Psychoanalysis

We are seeking an experienced Associate Tutor to join our team at Birkbeck University of London. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Lacanian theory and its applications in practice.

About the Role

The Associate Tutor will be responsible for teaching and facilitating group discussions on the module Lacanian Psychoanalysis: Theory and Practice (Level 7). This module introduces students to fundamental concepts in Lacanian theory and practice, including the imaginary, mirror-stage, and ego identifications, the symbolic, and the notion of the unconscious as 'structured like a language'. The successful candidate will have knowledge of Lacanian theory and its implications for practice, as well as experience teaching, running seminars, and facilitating group discussions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and facilitate group discussions on the module Lacanian Psychoanalysis: Theory and Practice (Level 7)
  • Develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials and resources
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Contribute to the development of the module and its assessment strategy

Requirements
