Job Overview

The Tax & Financial Accounting division operates on a global scale, tasked with the preparation and submission of both indirect and direct tax filings, statutory account submissions, and treasury back office operations.

This position is pivotal in ensuring exceptional service delivery that aligns with established timelines. Strong communication skills and the ability to foster relationships swiftly are essential, alongside a clear understanding of the organizational structure and operational methods.

The incumbent will be expected to discern financial accounting elements from general discussions. You will provide precise and timely financial data to key business associates, external partners, and Group functions. Close collaboration with business partners to comprehend their specific needs will be a significant aspect of this role.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Drafting and reviewing statutory accounts, both domestic and international, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Coordinating with third-party service providers to share information, manage expectations, and review statutory accounts for regulatory compliance.
  • Managing statutory accounts software and delivering training to team members as necessary.
  • Overseeing and reviewing the iXBRL tagging of statutory accounts.
  • Assisting in the preparation of information for Group reporting.
  • Reviewing tasks related to dormant and non-trading entities.
  • Completing month-end processes related to head office and treasury entities.
  • Supporting the provision of information for audit inquiries.
  • Preparing and reviewing assigned balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assisting with corporate simplification initiatives.
  • Aiding in the preparation and review of treasury transactions.
  • Supporting monthly treasury compliance tasks, including account limits and loan facilities.
  • Overseeing and reviewing national statistic submissions.
  • Managing team workload effectively.
  • Motivating the team to achieve performance metrics.
  • Collaborating with managers to develop cross-training plans and job rotation within the team.
  • Providing coaching on both interpersonal and technical skills within the team.
  • Participating in recruitment and selection processes.
  • Acting as a role model for team members.
  • Handling administrative duties such as absence management and timesheet approvals.

Qualifications Required

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Tax & Compliance accounting.
  • Exceptional communication skills across all levels, engaging a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of process and system improvements.
  • Adaptability to changing environments.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities under tight deadlines.
  • Proactive attitude and initiative, encouraging similar behavior in team members.
  • Proficiency in relevant internal systems.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.

  • Familiarity with SAP and Oracle systems is preferable.
  • Experience in people management is advantageous.
