About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Haematologist to join our team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Haematology department, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical care to patients, leading and managing the clinical haematology firm and multi-disciplinary team, and contributing to the development of our Haematology services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with haematological disorders, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex cases.
  • Lead and manage the clinical haematology firm and multi-disciplinary team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development of our Haematology services, including the design and implementation of new clinical pathways and protocols.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, providing cover for the Haematology Unit and other clinical areas as required.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients, including GPs, nurses, and other specialists.
Requirements
  • Full GMC Registration with a Licence to practise.
  • Success in Intercollegiate Specialty Examination or overseas equivalent.
  • Higher degree (desirable).
  • Entry on Specialist Register in Clinical Haematology (or CCT expected within 6 months of interview date).
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining (UK) CCT in Clinical Haematology.
  • Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on range of problems both emergency and elective within specialty.
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
  • Expertise in subspecialty.

  • Commitment to Continuing Medical Education.
