KPS serves as the engineering consultancy arm of Kier Group, delivering innovative design solutions, expert technical guidance, and comprehensive engineering support across various business units.

With a portfolio of over 2,000 designs annually, we are recognized as one of the leading designers of Temporary Works in the UK.

Our team of more than 100 Temporary Works engineers possesses extensive expertise in the design and verification of Temporary Works for projects of varying scales and across multiple sectors.

Our mission is to ensure that Kier is technically proficient to fulfill its objectives and to bolster the Group's competitive edge and reputation.


Key Responsibilities:

As a Lead Structural Engineer at KPS, you will collaborate closely with project teams to facilitate the delivery of a wide range of civil and structural services, encompassing both Temporary and Permanent Works.

Your role will also involve contributing to the execution of more intricate services by devising solutions that are both safe and constructible in their temporary and permanent forms.


Your daily tasks will include:
  • Designing and verifying Temporary Works, both above and below ground, utilizing various materials, and integrating with Permanent Works design as necessary.
  • Providing alternative solutions and value engineering to enhance Kier's reputation.
  • Supporting tender processes and bid submissions with a focus on constructability, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Conducting technical assessments and reviews of third-party designs to ensure compliance with project briefs and client requirements.
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff within KPS.

Candidate Profile:

This position is ideal for you if:

  • You are a Chartered Engineer or are on the path to becoming Chartered.
  • You have a keen interest in Temporary Works Design or possess relevant experience.
  • You hold a valid UK driving license.
