Assistant Network Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Network Manager to join our team at Class Technology Solutions Ltd. As an Assistant Network Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the IT infrastructure of our clients' schools in the Abingdon area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist ICT support to ensure high-quality learning facilities.
  • Work under the guidance of the Network Manager to maintain and improve the network infrastructure.
  • Use technical expertise to support staff and pupils' ICT requirements.
  • Maintain and repair specialist equipment, ensuring quality and safety standards.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to various audiences.
  • Implement agreed work programs and practices under senior staff guidance.
  • Monitor and manage stock within budget, cataloging resources and conducting audits.
  • Comply with policies and procedures related to child protection, health, safety, and security.
  • Mentor junior colleagues.
Technical Expertise:
  • Connect and check hardware for normal operation.
  • Set up desktop environments for users.
  • Install software applications as required.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks for user accounts.
  • Use utilities to change information on the intranet.
  • Run network monitoring reports or utilities.
Processes:
  • Follow acceptance test procedures on new ICT equipment.
  • Update records of installed hardware and software.
  • Maintain a software library and store original copies of installed applications.
  • Transfer and transport IT equipment to required areas.
  • Implement disaster recovery and maintenance plans.
  • Follow instructions to implement backup and virus protection procedures.
  • Record requests accurately in a support log.
  • Investigate requests for support, record diagnostic information, and resolve or escalate as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a helpdesk or support environment.
  • Professional qualifications or Microsoft certifications.
  • Ability to work in teams to resolve common problems.
  • Microsoft Server Skills are desirable.
  • Professional and polished communication skills.
  • Experience in the education sector is desirable but not essential.
  • Must have a clean and valid DBS disclosure.
