About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to a child with specific Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEND requirements, as outlined in their Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
  • Assist in the implementation of personalized learning plans, behaviour management strategies, and any therapies or interventions required.
  • Support the child in developing social, emotional, and communication skills, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to adapt lessons and resources to meet the child's learning needs.
  • Monitor and report on the child's progress, maintaining accurate records and contributing to regular reviews.
  • Liaise with parents/carers, SENCO, and external agencies to ensure consistent support and effective communication.
  • Promote inclusion and encourage the child's participation in all aspects of school life.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children with SEND, particularly in a 1:1 setting, is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of various SEND conditions, such as autism, ADHD, or learning difficulties, and the strategies to support these.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to the child's well-being and development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or SEND support are advantageous.
