We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Curate to join our team at St George's Church, Littleport, as part of the Diocese of Ely.

About the Role

  • To take a lead in pioneering a new monastic community which is sent out missionally within Littleport, but could be a hub for the wider area, fostering a sense of community and spiritual growth.
  • To support and contribute to sport and wellbeing ministry, promoting physical and mental health among our congregation and the wider community.
  • To be involved in leading/contributing to Faith Exploration/Alpha Courses, Baptism and Parenting Courses, Confirmation Classes, Pastoral Training, equipping individuals for a deeper understanding of their faith.
  • To lead Funerals, Burials of Ashes, Weddings, Baptisms and Thanksgiving Services, providing comfort and celebration to those in need.
  • To lead and preach at a range of services from traditional Holy Communion, right through to Messy Church, inspiring and engaging our congregation.
  • To engage creatively with the festivals (secular and Christian) that we celebrate during the course of each year, promoting cultural understanding and community cohesion.
  • To take part in the development of our children and/or young people through groups and events, and through our partnership with the schools, shaping the next generation of leaders.
  • To benefit and help further develop the link we have as hosts of the Littleport Food Hub, St George's Warm Space and links with the community, demonstrating our commitment to social responsibility.
  • To take part in ministry within a Care Home setting as well as Home Communion, bringing spiritual care to those in need.
  • To model Missional Discipleship, inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A strong understanding of the Christian faith and a passion for sharing it with others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • A proven track record of leadership and teamworking, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and development, with a desire to grow and improve in their role.
