Position Overview: The role of the Associate Director in Structured Credit Sales is pivotal in enhancing the bank's connections with clients through effective marketing and sales of financial market offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster and strengthen the bank's client relationships by promoting and selling financial market products.
- Proactively identify cross-selling opportunities and leverage our unique network to enhance client engagement.
- Focus on cross-asset and cross-border collaboration to optimize client service and financial returns.
- Collaborate with clients alongside Relationship Managers and other sales, research, and trading colleagues to gain a comprehensive understanding of client business requirements.
- Design and implement an engagement strategy tailored to meet client needs, while also focusing on the origination of new clients for financial market products, particularly in securitization and structured financing.
- Build productive relationships with key industry banking teams to support origination efforts, including teams focused on FISG, Leveraged Finance, Real Estate Finance, Aviation & Ship Finance, and Trade Finance.
- Engage with key decision-makers at client organizations through calls, visits, and the provision of relevant insights to become a vital resource in their decision-making processes regarding financial market instruments.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with SCB's policies and procedures during client interactions and trade executions, including order handling and record-keeping.
- Establish and maintain appropriate frameworks and operational infrastructures to facilitate efficient and compliant business processes.
- Monitor client trading limits and secure necessary approvals for any anticipated excesses resulting from specific transactions.
- Deliver exceptional service to enhance the financial markets relationship with clients.
- Oversee the global financial markets relationship for key clients, coordinating with Relationship Managers and SCB product specialists across regions.
- Maintain an updated account plan for financial markets products for each client, identifying growth opportunities and creating actionable plans.
- Engage proactively with clients, ensuring timely delivery of relevant market intelligence and responding efficiently to inquiries.
- Take ownership of all service delivery aspects within financial markets, including operational support functions.
- Assist in establishing the necessary infrastructure for trading activities.
- Drive key financial market themes and initiatives, ensuring alignment with risk management strategies.
- Achieve the annual budget for client income from assigned clients, focusing on income generation from asset-backed solutions, including CLOs and ABS.
- Collaborate with FM Structuring teams to provide optimal risk solutions for clients.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in ABS and CLO sales or broking, enabling immediate contribution to the role.
- In-depth knowledge of the global securitized products market, particularly in the US.
- Strong interpersonal skills suitable for a sales environment, with the ability to connect with diverse clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultures in a dynamic setting.
