About the Role

A Warehouse Team Manager oversees operations at a warehouse or storage facility, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing inventory is processed according to schedule. Their responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor all aspects of warehouse performance routinely, including cycle counting, stock control, dispatch, assembly picks, safety performance, service, and operating costs.
  • Investigate and remedy sub-standard performance, ensuring warehouse tasks are completed in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Plan warehouse output in accordance with business needs, maintaining close liaison with production, planning, and transport teams to meet this objective.
  • Manage, lead, and direct all staff reports and/or their teams, handling people matters, developing, and supporting the team as appropriate.
  • Maintain positive and effective working relationships within the factory organization, with other Company functions, and externally with customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure that food hygiene and safety standards are observed at all times within the warehouse teams, operating monitoring systems (e.g., HACCP) in accordance with specifications.
  • Actively promote cost and quality awareness at all levels within the warehouse.
  • Ensure that health and safety at work requirements are identified, communicated as necessary, and adhered to at all times within the warehouse.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, capital projects, etc., in accordance with requirements.
  • Develop performance benchmarking where appropriate and actively promote a culture of continuous improvement at all levels within the warehouse teams.
Requirements
  • Degree (or equivalent standard) preferably in an appropriate management or other relevant discipline/equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience within operations/warehouse/supply chain management.
  • Strong experience/familiarization working within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, such as SAP, is desirable.
  • PC literate, including being able to work with Microsoft (Excel/Word/PowerPoint) and manufacturing systems at an intermediate level.
  • Strong people leader.
  • Well-developed communication skills – able to present written and verbal reports that are understood by a target audience.
  • Customer-focused – demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills (verbal & written).
  • Act as a credible customer-facing representative of Kerry.
  • Current fork truck license – counterbalance & reach truck.
