Essential Qualifications & Skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the sourcing of new direct components essential for New Product Introductions (NPI) from both existing and potential suppliers, requiring a thorough understanding of specifications, drawings, and technical data provided by the engineering team.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for direct components, leveraging this expertise to enhance sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships.
  • Utilize market and industry insights to identify, assess, and qualify new suppliers.
  • Recognize risks and vulnerabilities within the Supply Chain, prioritize these risks, and propose solutions to mitigate the most significant threats, including developing new sources or fortifying existing ones.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Spot opportunities for inventory reduction and take appropriate action.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Ensure adherence to sourcing and contracting policies, procedures, risk management protocols, and ethical standards.
  • Provide mentorship and education to suppliers as necessary, as well as to the broader Purchasing Team.
