Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our external reporting efforts as the Group Reporting Director. This role will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of our primary external financial and non-financial market disclosures, ensuring that we maintain our strong reputation for market-leading disclosures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the production of our consolidated financial statements, including IFRS and Solvency Financial Condition Report (SFCR), ensuring consistency between the consolidated figures and the messages included in our Annual Report, Analyst Pack, and SFCR.
  • Oversee the implementation of new ISSB reporting requirements and lead the production of our non-financial reporting, including the Climate and Nature report, and the Social Impact report.
  • Steer and develop the production of internal and external regulatory reporting, manage and report on key regulatory measures, and oversee the production of formal papers for Board, Audit Committee, and other committee meetings.
  • Support the development of new reporting metrics, technical policies, and data collection processes for internal management information and external reporting.
  • Continuously assess our overall approach to external reporting to align with market best practice and ensure that we sustain our reputation for market-leading disclosures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, building upon strong existing working relationships.
  • Lead the oversight of the Group Finance Risk Committee, responsible for ensuring appropriate oversight and management of operational risk across Group Finance, and own and manage the delivery of the Model and Financial Control Framework.
  • Ensure that appropriate Finance MI, processes, and systems are in place to provide support to the business, treating customers fairly in line with Legal & General's commitment to put customers at the centre of our business and deliver good customer outcomes.
  • Lead and manage a team.
Requirements
  • A fully qualified Accountant with deep financial accounting knowledge in the Financial Services sector across relevant GAAPs (UK GAAP, IFRS) and measurement bases (Solvency I).
  • Experience with governance, organisational, operational risk & control, and infrastructure knowledge across financial services groups in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience in delivering and managing change projects and performing control remediation programmes for large-scale operations.
  • A track record of working for insurers and other financial services organisations on finance, reporting, and risk/control-related matters.
  • Excellent relationship management and formulating key stakeholder strategies.
  • Experience as a functional lead, having led significant-sized teams, with the ability to develop employees under you.
