The Role

  • Support our Resident Site Engineers in carrying out automated materials handling equipment servicing, in accordance with quality standards.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical breakdown and planned preventative maintenance on a variety of automated machinery, including cranes, conveyors, vertical lifts, monorail systems, and deep freeze high bays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake repairs in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and industry standard practices.
  • Comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times.
  • Ensure quality of output and adhere to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company.
  • Work at heights.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and strive for excellence and best practice in all tasks undertaken.

The Ideal Candidate

  • You will be an Engineering Site Technician with a good level of competence in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • An Apprentice-trained Mechanical/Electrical or Controls Engineer with a minimum Level 2 Qualification.
  • You must have GCSEs Grade C or above in Maths, English, and Science.
  • Able or willing to work at heights.
  • This is a customer-facing role, so you must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Able to adapt to new and changing demands and situations.
  • Able to share knowledge with others proactively and always show integrity.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous controls experience would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience of working with automation/in an automated warehouse.
  • Competent and able to do Electrical/Mechanical servicing on a variety of machinery.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement.
  • Health and Safety (ISO would also be desirable for this role).
