Purpose of the Role

This position is responsible for managing all facets of insurance arrangements, in collaboration with the Head of Insurance & Claims. Responsibilities include overseeing renewals for both marine and non-marine insurance lines, updating records for fleet modifications, assessing current coverage limits, and communicating value adjustments to brokers after coordination with the Finance department. Supervise the processing of all insurance-related invoices, ensuring that all documentation and spreadsheets are accurate and current. Provide quotes for AWRP and K&R upon request from vessel operators, and prepare monthly reports for brokers while distributing premium invoices in line with the AWRP Process. Engage with the broader organization, including the MISC insurance division.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Head of Insurance & Claims with the insurance renewal process, including gathering data for insured entities, regions, and departments. Support negotiations and the agreement of premiums. Communicate with brokers regarding marine and non-marine insurance coverage. Examine all insurance invoices and verify against approved costs prior to processing for timely payments. Input all marine and non-marine insurance policies, premiums, and certificates into the relevant insurance records. Update the insurance department budget with premium information, vessel phasing details, and projected annual increases. Collaborate internally on new builds, ensuring adequate insurance coverage is established, and manage the process to confirm that all necessary documentation (P&I COE, COI, Blue Cards, COFRs, and ITOPF) is obtained and distributed within the designated timeframe. Work with MISC on AET P&I and FD&D renewals, ensuring completion ahead of the required deadlines for the entire fleet, and that all related documentation is accessible on board each vessel and available across the organization. Participate in and facilitate meetings with external stakeholders, including brokers and insurers, representing MISC Berhad and enhancing its reputation within the insurance sector. Assist with any additional tasks or projects as directed by the Head of Insurance & Claims. Adhere to the company's policies and Code of Conduct and Business Ethics (CoBE).

Qualifications

Education: Relevant degree in Shipping/Maritime, Risk & Insurance, Law, ACII, etc. Professional Certification: Not applicable. Experience: 0-3 years of experience, preferably in a marine claims or insurance setting (P&I Club, Shipowner, Marine Insurance Company, or Lloyd's Syndicate). Specialized Knowledge: Commercial awareness, proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and capability to work with minimal supervision. Skills and Abilities: Effective business writing and communication skills, ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure, and a keen attention to detail.
