We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Analyst to join our team at Thames Water. As a Senior Cost Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive financial planning and reporting support to our Retail - Service delivery team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including valuable performance insights, to drive efficiency and support our turnaround journey.
  • Support the management of Metering stock control and reporting.
  • Own and prepare monthly financial results, accrual management, and variance analysis against set budgets for management and group finance reporting.
  • Prepare and manage detailed budgets and forecasts for the Demand Reduction programme Customer side Leakage, monitoring performance against agreed targets and investigating operational causes of variances and issues.
  • Build and maintain financial cost models for Demand Reduction programmes.
  • Manage the lifecycle of capital projects in SAP from creation, delivery monitoring, to closing down and commissioning the asset or writing off costs if no asset is created.
  • Support Project Managers in preparing upcoming Investment Papers, providing financial input for review and endorsement ahead of submission for approval.
  • Support in improving and maintaining a robust stock management system for Meter stock, from procurement to accurate cost allocation in projects.
Requirements:
  • Strong finance background with experience in project cost management.
  • Strong analytical, Excel, and PowerPoint skills, with experience in using and building financial models in Excel.
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP and Power BI.
  • Understanding of stock management desirable.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to Clearwater court or MGJV Stock Warehouses.

  • Competitive salary of £48,000 and up to £58,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
  • Annual leave - 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with length of service (plus bank holidays).
