About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Therapy Team at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide holistic Occupational Therapy assessment and diagnosis using a rehabilitation model that includes the physical, psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the person referred for specialist palliative care.
- Formulate appropriate treatment plans based on clinical reasoning and deliver and evaluate OT service provision in partnership with patients, carers, multi-disciplinary team colleagues, and other professionals/agencies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and carers, especially where there are barriers to understanding, requiring empathy, reassurance, and persuasive skills.
- Contribute to the effective discharge of patients from the in-patient unit, liaising with patient, family, colleagues, and members of the primary healthcare team.
- Participate in teaching, assessing, and evaluating OT students to graduate level within the clinical area of specialist palliative care.
- Act as a Moving and Handling link person for all clinical areas to facilitate Moving and Handling risk assessments and risk reduction measures.
Requirements
- UK Driving License with access to a vehicle for work.
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Health Professional Council (HPC) registration.
- Evidence of relevant postgraduate courses/CPD.
- Relevant work experience.
- Experience of MDT working.
