Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Bennett and Game Recruitment Ltd. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, specifying, and managing projects from feasibility to construction. This will include all aspects of Mechanical Services, including RIBA stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and specifications of projects, including mechanical services and HVAC installations.
  • Project management, including running and leading multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ensuring projects meet British Standards and other relevant legislation.
  • Feasibility studies and energy efficiency reports, including air source heat pumps and plant room refurbishments.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical design calculations for HVAC installations.
  • Attending project meetings and design department meetings.
  • Assisting with implementing QA procedures for all projects.

Requirements:

  • Professionally qualified to degree level or equivalent.
  • Experience in Mechanical engineering, engineering consultancy, and/or mechanical installations.
  • Experience in design calculation software packages, including Design Builder and Heavcomp.
  • Good working knowledge of industry regulations, mechanical design, and installations.
  • Good working knowledge of utility services, including new connections and disconnections.
  • Able to manage and prioritize workload to meet deadlines while maintaining good communication with clients and design teams.

  • Salary: 25k - 40k (Guide only - DOE) - Open from Graduate to Intermediate level.
