Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, as our Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, your primary duties will include:

  • Addressing plant breakdowns efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime through timely and safe repairs in line with the maintenance plan and compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
  • Enhancing plant performance while prioritizing safety, maintenance, and asset reliability.
  • Contributing to the development of our Computer Maintenance Management System.
  • Supporting maintenance and operations by maintaining documentation, policies, and procedures for the safe and effective maintenance of equipment.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The role of Mechanical Maintenance Fitter is multifaceted and rewarding, requiring:

  • ESSENTIAL - Proven experience in Fabrication and Welding.
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices, particularly in hydraulics and pneumatics, is highly advantageous.
  • Level 3 Apprenticeship or ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering is beneficial, though relevant experience is crucial.
  • Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies and Continuous Improvement processes.
  • Understanding of engineering maintenance principles and practices, particularly in heavy engineering sectors.
  • Knowledge of Predictive Maintenance techniques.
  • Experience with Computer Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics, along with relevant national and international codes and symbols.
  • Ability to learn and apply Health and Safety regulations pertinent to the role.
