Facilities Maintenance Technician

Pertemps Telford is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday | 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM | Includes a 30-minute lunch break and two 10-minute breaks throughout the day.

Compensation Package:
Annual salary of £40,000 based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe and effective operation of overhead gantry cranes and associated systems.
  • Perform maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records.
  • Schedule maintenance activities in alignment with production needs.
  • Conduct work at elevated heights as required.
  • Adhere to best practices, legal requirements, and company standards during all tasks.
  • Operate independently and take initiative in problem-solving.
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs, including interpreting electrical schematics and machine issues.
  • Service and repair hoisting and lifting equipment.
  • Procure necessary equipment and maintain an inventory of essential spare parts to address breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to enhance design and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills in all interactions.
  • Maintain a flexible approach to job responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • City and Guilds Level 2/3 certification.
  • Electrical Installation qualifications (17th/18th edition).
  • Proven experience in maintaining overhead cranes.
  • Capability to work at heights.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
