As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will oversee the deployment of GPA's standardized shared IT infrastructure across various facilities, collaborating with vendors, clients, and both internal and external stakeholders to ensure exceptional service delivery throughout the project lifecycle.

About the Organization:

The Government Property Agency is pioneering a transformation in the Civil Service, leading initiatives that reshape how civil servants interact with their work environments. The Agency plays a crucial role in implementing significant Government policies, including relocating 22,000 Civil Service positions outside of London by 2030 and addressing climate change through contributions to the Net Zero agenda. Our mission involves executing a comprehensive change program across the UK, aiming to save £1.4 billion over a decade.

Beyond physical infrastructure, the GPA is dedicated to creating excellent workplaces for its employees. Through initiatives like Hubs, Whitehall Campus, and Smart Working, you will be at the forefront of developing exemplary work environments and advocating for flexible working arrangements.

  • Offer specialized guidance to colleagues and clients at all levels regarding IT delivery and the product suite, managing projects with budgets ranging from £3 million to £5 million.
  • Conduct testing and transition of projects to the service management function and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with government guidelines and policies concerning information assurance and security maturity.
  • Identify and manage project delivery risks effectively.
  • Report on project progress using established reporting tools and timelines.
  • Measure and enhance GPA's information management maturity while addressing risks identified in regular information and cybersecurity reviews and audits.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in other government departments, influencing decision-makers and securing support for the product.
  • Manage multiple clients to ensure compliance with the GPA IT strategy in alignment with the technical annex of the design guide.
  • Collaborate with up to eight IT product providers to deliver projects within budget, timeline, and scope.
  • Recognize best practices and methodologies to assess the status of ongoing work.

Candidate Profile:

  • Deep understanding of digital service delivery, encompassing agile methodologies and service design, along with the necessary cultural, organizational, functional, and process changes.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver projects effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple complex projects in high-pressure environments.
  • Experience in delivering clear and credible presentations to all organizational levels, including resolving entrenched positions with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent commercial and supplier management skills.
  • Ability to quickly become a subject matter expert in assigned areas through various methods.
