Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for SEN students, ensuring their unique needs are met.
  • Assist in creating a supportive and engaging atmosphere for all students, fostering their academic and personal growth.
  • Work closely with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and other staff members to ensure the needs of SEN students are met.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, demonstrating a good understanding of SEN strategies and interventions.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within an educational setting.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
  • Training in specific SEN interventions or programmes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding towards SEN students.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-Time, Monday to Friday.
  • Classroom-based role with some additional administrative duties.
  • Opportunity for professional development and training.
  • Regular interaction with students, teachers, and parents.
