POSITION OVERVIEW

As a vital member of a diverse research team, you will assist the Principal Investigator (Dr. Paul Ansdell) in executing a research initiative focused on the project titled "Menstrual-related worsening of Multiple Sclerosis: when and why?" This is a three-year research endeavor supported by the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Key Duties Include:
  • Securing ethical approvals and managing study documentation.
  • Recruiting participant groups for experimental research.
  • Facilitating patient engagement activities.
  • Gathering data through surveys, functional assessments, and neurophysiological methods.
  • Sharing research outcomes via conference presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and educational resources.
This role is ideal for individuals with a background in neuroscience, physiology, or a related field, who are eager to apply their expertise in female physiology to individuals with Multiple Sclerosis.

This is a fixed-term role for a duration of 36 months.

TEAM CONTEXT

This project is conducted within the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation in partnership with local NHS Trusts. The Research Fellow will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team comprising academics and clinical professionals from various fields, including physiology, neurology, physiotherapy, and computer science.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. or be nearing completion, with proven specialized knowledge in neuromuscular physiology, multiple sclerosis, or female physiology.
