Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting various educational initiatives and delivering training programs to diverse groups of learners. Being a driver of change is crucial for fostering continuous improvement within the PDEU and collaborating with external teams. A constructive problem-solving mindset is vital for the success of both the PDEU and the wider organization.

The role requires collaboration with the Clinical Lead for the Non-Registered Workforce and the Matron for Professional Development and Education, alongside Lead Clinical Educators, Practice Educators, and Transition Support Mentors, to achieve the team's mission: to inspire change through innovative education and professional growth.

The post holder will exemplify professional conduct and effective leadership to our Non-Medical workforce, promoting the Trust's vision and cultivating strong relationships with clinical teams. Maintaining up-to-date clinical skills and competencies is essential for ensuring credibility in both educational and clinical settings, which is integral to the role's success in supporting learners and junior staff.

Communication and Service Improvement

- Champion learning initiatives across the Trust, including interprofessional education.

- Disseminate educational and practice-related information throughout the organization.

Understanding Your Role

- Work under the guidance of senior staff within the PDEU and corporate teams.

- Facilitate and deliver training programs in various learning environments using diverse teaching methods.

- Assist Practice Assessors and Supervisors in supporting apprentices and learners in clinical settings.

- Provide guidance and support to learners in aligning their experiences with relevant frameworks.

- Foster clinical confidence and competence among new starters and learners.

- Deliver pastoral care to learners in clinical environments.

- Complete necessary administrative tasks related to the role.

- Coordinate events and training opportunities.

- Maintain accurate training records and ensure the learning environment is conducive for all learners.

- Manage and prioritize workload effectively.

- Contribute to the development and evaluation of learning events for continuous improvement.

- Undertake clinical supervision of learners as appropriate.

- Collaborate with department managers and clinical teams to enhance training participation.

- Provide advice and encouragement to staff interested in professional development.

- Maintain clinical competency through regular practice.

- Assist with the coordination and delivery of clinical skills training.

- Support learners with their apprenticeship documentation and meetings.

- Assist in teaching fundamental aspects of care.
