A leading UK automation solutions provider, Automation Experts, is seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer with a strong reputation for delivering complete turnkey projects across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities:- Ownership of the functional safety lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Supervision and motivation of teams of engineers, including external resources, to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Mentoring of graduate engineers, trainees, and apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Collaboration with Project Managers to identify and mitigate project risks and technical changes.
- Active involvement in the development of internal standards and practices, focusing on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Complete ownership of projects at handover stage, maintaining responsibility for all activities, including those delegated to other staff or sub-contractors.
- Detailed software and electrical/control concept design, ensuring seamless integration with project requirements.
- Organizing CAD, manufacturing, test, dispatch, and commissioning activities during the project lifecycle.
- Visits to customer sites to ensure smooth project execution and on-site commissioning of completed projects, if required.
- A broad automation understanding, with the ability to manage projects from both software and hardware perspectives.
- Competence with Rockwell and Siemens packages, with previous experience in industrial drive and control systems.
- Good working knowledge of variable speed drives, PLCs, and SCADA/HMI products.
- Ability to manage and document project information for successful project delivery.
- Strong communication skills and excellent team-playing abilities.
This role is located in Shropshire, with easy commutability from surrounding areas, including Telford, Wolverhampton, Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury, and Stafford.
