We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Tetra Tech. As a key member of our building services team, you will be responsible for leading and delivering multiple projects, providing expert advice to clients, and managing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and deliver mechanical building services engineering designs across a wide range of sectors, including life sciences, defence, education, commercial, residential, renewable energy, industrial, retail, healthcare, and leisure.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, and mentor them to develop their skills and expertise.
- Conduct site surveys, inspections, and testing to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage and coordinate project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.
- Accredited Building Services/Mechanical Engineering degree or higher educational qualification.
- Chartered engineer or working towards membership.
- Proven experience in project lead and delivery of mechanical services across multiple projects, as part of a multi-discipline design team.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of mechanical building services engineering, including design, installation, and maintenance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
