Purpose of the Role

As a key member of our onsite team at a residential building in Ilford, you will be responsible for carrying out reactive and planned maintenance repairs to ensure the building remains in excellent condition.

Main Responsibilities
  • Carrying out painting and decorating tasks, including preparing surfaces and applying finishes.
  • Performing general maintenance tasks, such as tightening loose screws, fixing signage, and sweeping and clearing areas.
  • Assisting with basic carpentry work, including repairing and replacing fixtures and fittings.
  • Undertaking basic hardscaping tasks, such as re-bedding and replacing paving stones and flagstones.
  • Flushing infrequently used outlets and ensuring all electrical equipment is in good working order.
  • Replacing lightbulbs and domestic appliance plug fuses.
  • Conducting void management checks and fire door checks, as well as emergency lighting tests and bell testing.
  • Carrying out drainage works and tiling tasks.
  • Reglazing at ground floor level and performing joinery tasks, including boarding up broken windows.
  • Using basic hand tools and power tools provided by Savills.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a handyman or decorator, or similar role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with residents and colleagues.
  • Proactive and dynamic approach, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Flexible and cooperative, with a strong team ethos.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Confidentiality and security of business, client, and customer documentation and information.
