Lead Cost Consultant Job Description

Main Purpose of Role

  • To act as the Commission Manager, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services
  • To align client goals with effective cost management strategies

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentoring junior team members in proficient cost management practices
  • Providing expert advice to clients on feasibility assessments and procurement strategies
  • Overseeing the estimating and financial planning phases
  • Managing tender processes and procurement, including contract oversight
  • Conducting valuations, preparing post-contract financial reports, and implementing value engineering
  • Negotiating final settlements and liaising with clients
  • Employing digital tools for cost management and supporting strategic initiatives

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in cost management or quantity surveying
  • RICS or equivalent certification
  • Relevant degree or HNC level qualification
  • Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently
