Safeguarding and Welfare Officer

Cheshire College - South & West is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Safeguarding and Welfare Officer to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing and safety of our students.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide emotional support and guidance to students with mental health concerns and/or safeguarding issues.
- Collaborate with our College counsellor to develop and implement support plans for students with safeguarding or emotional needs.
- Produce reports for Personal Education Plan, Early Help, Child in Need, and Child Protection meetings.
- Attend meetings and reviews to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our students.
- Support the delivery and development of events, strategies, and training programs to promote mental health awareness across the College.
- GCSE Grade C (4/5) in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Level 3 Safeguarding qualification (or willingness to achieve).
- Experience of working in a supportive environment.
- Experience of safeguarding, working with young people, and vulnerable adults.
- Evidence of relevant continuous professional development that includes mental health.
- Ability to work with empathy and sensitivity with emotional resilience.
