Exciting Opportunity for a Gas Trading Business Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Gas Trading Business Analyst to join our team at Eaglecliff Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing gas trading operations, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and assess the risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution options.
  • Outline the scope of IT delivery and provide a high-level solution design.
  • Responsible for Gas Ops System configuration and process improvement.
  • Assess and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand the current value and issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Propose designs / solutions which contribute to project delivery performance and co-ordinate input to devise project test strategy.
  • Take responsibility for training colleagues on business process flow.
  • Interact with multiple IT delivery partners to understand software limitations, deliver application designs, and ensure that business requirements, use cases are handled in Agile manner.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders, keeping them informed, managing expectations, develop trust, respect, and credibility.
  • Able to link technical solutions with business strategy when working with business partners.
  • Serves as an SME for specific tools, techniques, or business areas. Share knowledge to wider team.
Requirements:
  • Experience of energy trading markets, with a strong understanding of UK and European Gas markets, gas networks, Storages, balancing, scheduling, capacity, transportation, pricing, position, P&L and exposure management.
  • Experience and strong understanding of Transmission System Operations, Distribution System Operations and Physical Gas Flow.
  • Proficient Technical knowledge including Databases, Data Analysis, SQL and Power BI, Python.
  • A working knowledge of different trading instruments, including OTC transactions - Including forwards, storage, swing deals, swaps, and simple options, Exchange traded futures & options lifecycle including cascading.
  • Hands-on experience with ETRM Systems Endur.
