About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Surveyor to join our Project & Programme Services team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering high-profile construction projects across various sectors, working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate building surveying duties across multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Undertake feasibility studies, produce specifications, obtain estimates, and administer contracts for refurbishment projects.
  • Apply standard forms of building contract, such as JCT and NEC, to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Mentor and train junior Building Surveyors in the APC programme, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Support senior managers in their day-to-day activities, providing guidance and expertise as needed.
  • Line manage junior Building Surveyors, ensuring effective team performance and productivity.
  • Conduct surveys, inspections, and schedules, providing professional services and managing schemes in the South-West Region.

About You

  • You have a B.Sc. (Hons) in Building Surveying or a similar degree accredited by RICS, with Chartered status essential or highly desirable.
  • You possess significant building surveying experience, with a strong understanding of profitability, business development, and commercial awareness.
  • You have experience managing clients and their expectations, as well as mentoring and training junior team members.
  • You are proficient in drafting technical documents, including bids, and have a full understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
  • You have excellent time management, punctuality, and commitment to getting the job done, with a meticulous nature and an eye for detail.
