Lead Control and Instrumentation Engineer

Wood Process & Energy is seeking a skilled Lead Control and Instrumentation Engineer to enhance our project capabilities on a contract basis.
This role offers a hybrid working model, requiring a minimum of two days in the office, with opportunities for remote work. Occasional travel to client sites may be necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on projects within the Energy, Chemicals, and Refining sectors.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as part of project deliverables.
- Work effectively within a project team, contributing as a Senior C&I engineer across various industry sectors on capital projects from inception to operational readiness.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Develop Instrument Engineering deliverables tailored to specific project needs.
- Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status with the Institute of Measurement and Control (IMC) or Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is preferred.
- Familiarity with specification control and safety system upgrades is advantageous.
- Expertise in specifying field instrumentation, analyzers, and safety systems.
- Proficient in sizing flow devices, control valves, and relief devices.
- Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, Alarm Reviews, and SIL Determination processes.
- Knowledge of IEC 61511 Safety Lifecycle and Emergency Shutdown System architecture is desirable.
- TUV or equivalent Functional Safety Engineer qualification is a plus.
- Experience in specifying Fire & Gas systems and detection equipment, with knowledge of BS5839-1.
- Background in IT, Telecoms, Networks, Access Control, and CCTV Systems is beneficial.
- Manage and interface Instrumentation and Control requirements for Mechanical packages.
- Collaborate with Client Engineers to ensure effective project execution.
- Liaise with Vendors to facilitate project success.
- Bring a strong technical background and expertise to the role.
- Apply relevant codes of practice, standards, and statutory documentation in your work.
- Utilize design and assessment methods appropriate to the discipline.
