Senior Engineer - Embedded Systems Integration and Diagnostics

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Systems Integration and Diagnostics Engineer to join our team at Expleo Group.

Department Overview

The Embedded and Electronic Systems Integration division is in search of a proactive and experienced engineer. This team is responsible for the integration and configuration of software systems and Electronic Control Units (ECUs) for Medium Duty platforms. Our organization collaborates with teams worldwide, specializing in electronic systems integration, vehicle architecture management, and validation processes.

As our team expands, we require additional expertise in electrification, advanced driver assistance systems, and emissions projects across our product range.

Key Responsibilities:

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating from our facility in the UK.
  • Committing to a full-time schedule of 37 hours per week.
  • Delivering embedded systems integration and diagnostic solutions that align with project goals while managing timelines, milestones, and key performance indicators.
  • Leading collaboration with stakeholders to develop integration and testing strategies, ensuring the necessary artifacts for system validation on test benches, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) rigs, and vehicles based on requirements.
  • Engaging directly with internal and external clients on technical matters and requirements to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Assisting in product development and resolving production challenges using effective problem-solving techniques while communicating with suppliers, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Becoming the recognized system owner for various embedded systems, ECUs, and features related to vehicle platforms.
  • Contributing to the enhancement of functional and systems testing and reporting methodologies.
  • Managing the workflow for implementing embedded system engineering changes within production timelines.
  • Utilizing industry-standard vehicle CAN and diagnostic applications along with parameter/programming data.
  • Conducting design analysis tasks, including D-FMEAs and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Participating in a V-cycle development process with a focus on requirements management.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers to help them reach their full potential.
  • Being open to travel and participating in global embedded projects.
  • Collaborating with suppliers and supply chain management to ensure a seamless process and availability (SSQA/APQP processes).
  • Maintaining FMEA processes related to e-Powertrain systems, facilitating relevant meetings, and developing comprehensive DVP&R for validation requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience and a solid understanding of embedded electronics, software, and systems engineering solutions, preferably from the automotive sector or a related field.
  • Proven track record in managing embedded system integration projects, demonstrating the ability to achieve objectives both independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols and tools such as CAN, J1939, LIN, IP, Vector tools, and CAPL.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in embedded systems engineering.
  • Knowledge of functional safety, cybersecurity, and IATF processes.
  • A willingness to challenge existing practices, continually seeking improvements and striving to make a meaningful impact within a growing team.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
