About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Bioinformatics and Software to lead our international team in developing custom bioinformatics pipelines, analysis algorithms, and regulated software products for the analysis of genetic data.

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract opportunity to join our dynamic team at Yourgene Health, a leading integrated technologies and services business enabling the delivery of genomic medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and execution of studies to refine existing algorithms and develop novel ones, converting genomic and other bioinformatic data into actionable clinical information.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in development projects, collaborating with development scientists to create products, services, and processes meeting user needs.
  • Manage the lifecycle of software applications, products, and tools, ensuring compliance with IEC 62304 and other regulatory standards.
  • Liaise with external software development partners, ensuring processes are compatible with Yourgene software development requirements.
Requirements
  • Further degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Scientific Computing, or similar, with 10+ years of relevant experience in software application development, testing, and documentation.
  • Proven track record in software project management, leading technical teams to deliver complex software development projects on time and to budget.
  • Experience in regulated software development environments, preferably in the Healthcare sector or other industry sectors with knowledge of transferrable processes.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work to tight timelines and lead interdisciplinary teams.
