About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at a bustling port. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the operations of the port, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance efficiently and safely.
  2. Proactively address maintenance issues, reporting faults and defects promptly.
  3. Ensure all mechanical and maintenance equipment meets current standards and legislation.
  4. Fault-find and resolve breakdowns and performance issues quickly to meet operational targets.
  5. Propose tactical solutions to keep activities on schedule.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in maintaining heavy plant and machinery in a heavy industrial environment.
  2. Strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  3. Excellent fault-finding skills and a commitment to safe working practices.
  4. Qualifications to ONC/OND level in Mechanical Engineering and a working AP(LV).
  5. A full UK driving licence.
  6. A dedication to maintaining Health and Safety standards.
