Ackerman Pierce collaborates closely with County Councils and Educational Institutions to provide personalized tutoring services for children awaiting school placements. The children we are supporting have a range of complex needs, and we are seeking experienced professionals in Special Educational Needs (SEN), Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Tutors, and Teachers.

We are currently recruiting for Learning Support Assistants to provide face-to-face support to our Tutors and Students with Special Educational Needs in our community.

  • Location: Our services are available in various locations.
  • Position: Learning Support Assistant
  • Contract Type: Temporary
  • Full time/part time: Part time and Full time available
  • Rate of pay: £15 - £23 per hour
  • Hours: Tuition must take place between 0830am and 1630pm Monday - Friday (Term time only)

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Available during school hours up to 30 hours per week.
  • Experienced in supporting young people with a wide range of complex and challenging needs, including SEMH, ASD, MLD, and SpLD.
  • Prepared to work face-to-face within the community or young person's home.

Learning Support Assistant responsibilities:

  • Motivate pupils to achieve beyond their potential.
  • Assist Tutors to plan learning activities, prepare learning materials, complete records, and carry out administrative tasks.
  • Help children to understand instructions.
  • Provide feedback on the young person's progress.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting young people with complex needs.
  • Ability to work face-to-face in the community or young person's home.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
