If you hold an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering and possess hands-on experience as a Mechanical & Electrical Technician, we invite you to explore this opportunity with us.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and execute repairs, servicing, and parts replacement for vehicles.
  • Identify vehicle faults and determine the appropriate repair methods and necessary components.
  • Perform routine vehicle servicing and inspections utilizing handheld data capture tools as needed.
  • Respond to on-road vehicle breakdowns and facilitate recoveries.
  • Conduct vehicle road tests when required to pinpoint specific defects or to verify repairs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in PCV Mechanical, Electrical & Body Repair skills.

Compensation

Hourly rate: Starting from £17.46 per hour

Working Hours

37 hours per week, rotating between 06:00 and 18:00, Monday to Saturday.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification and experience with HGV/PSV vehicles.
  • PCV license is advantageous but not mandatory; we can assist in obtaining it.
  • Thorough understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, gearboxes, drive trains, and various hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with safe operation of workshop equipment such as brake testers, hydraulic lifts, and diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with diagnostic equipment including flow meters, multi-meters, and temperature gauges.
  • Basic skills in welding and body repairs are beneficial.
  • Willingness to attend training courses as required, which may involve overnight stays.
