We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Analyst to join our team at Canada Life UK. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the Head of Actuarial Function Oversight and Partial Internal Model (AFS & PIM) in their responsibilities to establish and maintain the actuarial governance processes.
Key Responsibilities- Actuarial Governance: Ensure that the Partial Internal Model (PIM) governance and processes are maintained and operating effectively, in line with relevant Policies and Standards.
- Reporting: Support the production of actuarial reports to the management and Board, including valuation results, assessment of data, methodology, and assumptions, and reports on the tasks of the Actuarial Function.
- Risk Management: Support the implementation of the Canada Life risk management system, providing management with information to understand the risks within the business, and supporting capital management initiatives and business projects.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Develop strong business relationships with stakeholders across the business, and mentor and coach part-qualified actuaries and other actuarial support colleagues to support their development.
- Actuarial Expertise: Strong knowledge of actuarial models and controls, and their commercial application/implication.
- Communication Skills: Excellent analytical and report writing/drafting skills, with the ability to explain complexities in a straightforward and accurate way to audiences of differing levels of understanding.
- Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the needs of the business, with the ability to apply technical actuarial techniques and understand business/commercial implications.
