Senior Software Engineer - Innovative Biotech Organization -

Our client is a pioneering Biotech organization that has successfully secured substantial investment from global investors, including those in Silicon Valley.

Role Summary: As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a vital role in the team, aiding in the design and upkeep of scalable, high-performance cloud-based applications. Your collaboration with scientists and operational users will be essential in driving project delivery and defining requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and Development: You will architect and implement robust server-side logic, ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness for both front-end and event-driven API requests.
  • Team Collaboration: Engage closely with engineers, data scientists, and front-end developers to devise innovative solutions.
  • Impact Contribution: Help accelerate chemical discovery and reshape the materials science landscape.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with: Python (FastAPI/Django/Flask).
  • Proficiency in SQL and ORM frameworks such as SQLAlchemy.
  • Familiarity with messaging systems like Kafka and/or RabbitMQ.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of object-oriented design principles and patterns relevant to cloud applications.
  • Proficient in version control systems like Git.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment practices and tools.
  • Strong experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Demonstrated experience in the scoping, design, and development of complex software systems.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in producing high-quality, production-grade code in the industry.
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to personal growth.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to commute to the office as required.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with NoSQL, Graph, and TimeSeries databases.
  • Experience in startup environments.
  • Knowledge of React and TypeScript.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Knowledge of data science, chemistry, and the scientific method.
