We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Accountant to play a key role in the external reporting processes for our client, Marc Daniels. Reporting to the Head of External Reporting, your key responsibilities include preparing statutory financial statements for group subsidiaries, managing internal and external stakeholders for the year end audit, and preparing technical accounting papers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform the group consolidation and produce consolidated financial statements at year end, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS standards.
  • Produce technical accounting papers to support complex technical judgements, including management papers for the year end audit, to ensure a smooth process.
  • Liaise with divisional finance teams to resolve accounting queries and provide expert guidance.
  • Manage external auditors to ensure a seamless year end audit process, maintaining strong relationships and communication.
  • Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards, ensuring reporting is IFRS compliant and aligns with company policies.
  • Maintain the Group Accounting Manual, ensuring all accounting policies are accurately reflected throughout the group's reporting, and provide training to finance teams as needed.
  • Support the ongoing entity rationalisation project to simplify the group structure, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Prepare subsidiary financial statements, ensuring compliance with Companies Act 2006 and relevant accounting standards (UK GAAP), and provide expert advice to finance teams.

Essential Requirements:

  • Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA or ACCA).
  • Recent experience in auditing or preparing financial statements for a large group, with a strong understanding of IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
