About the Role

Delivering Excellence in Water Infrastructure

M Group Services, a leading provider of essential infrastructure services, is seeking a highly skilled Surveyor to join our Engineering team in Leeds. As a Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the investigation and detail design of clean and waste water networks, civil engineering projects, and other initiatives related to the water industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site-based surveys using specialist GPS equipment, including up-front surveys, hazard surveys, access surveys, technical surveys, as-built surveys, and schedule of condition reports for private land entry.
  • Develop and implement risk assessments for surveys, taking into account site-specific risks.
  • Liaise with internal departments, clients, and third parties to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Perform tasks in line with current corporate systems, documentation, and controls, ensuring compliance with legislation and industry standards.
  • Identify and obtain information regarding third-party stakeholders and private landowners, including access points, fencing requirements, and working areas.
  • Prepare comprehensive site survey reports, including drawings and environmental risk assessments, for use by design teams.
  • Identify key risks and relay them to the lead on each scheme or project.
  • Ensure photographic records are captured and labeled, documenting all areas of the works throughout the process.
  • Report any near misses.
Requirements
  • Awareness of risks, both safety and environmental.
  • Awareness of construction techniques.
  • NRASWA preferable.
  • Knowledge of surveying techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of using MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail and health and safety awareness.
