Job Title: Professional Services Engineer

Location: Thames Valley

Reporting to: Professional Services Technical Manager

Purpose:

As a Professional Services Engineer at Air IT, you will be responsible for delivering IT projects in line with the scope of works. You will work closely with the Project Management Office to ensure efficient and successful completion of projects, meeting SLAs and agreed timescales.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver customer projects to a high standard and within set timelines
  • Collaborate with the Air IT Project Management Office to schedule work for customers and ensure smooth running of IT projects
  • Review scope of works prior to commencing project, reporting any issues back to management or PMO
  • Work with support teams to provide comprehensive handovers to Service Desk upon successful completion of projects
  • Identify any snagging issues that may cause delays to project completion and report this back to management or PMO to record and raise with the customer
  • Log and action all activity in the CRM system via projects and project tickets following established Air IT Project procedures
  • Maintain information security by complying with the company's Information Security Management System (ISMS) and all relevant policies

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

  • IT project delivery experience
  • Experience in administering and supporting the latest Microsoft technologies
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining business system networks based on Microsoft technologies
  • Setting up and supporting Mobile Devices
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A current, valid driving licence
  • Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems (2008-2022)
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2010-2019
  • Microsoft Windows Hyper-V/VMware vSphere and vCentre
  • Microsoft 365 (experience in email migrations, InTune deployment, Azure Information Protection and related technologies, Azure AD join, AD Connect, SharePoint Online, DLP, MDM)
  • Multi-Factor-Authentication and conditional access setup and configuration for Office 365 and related technologies
  • Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server and related server roles (IIS/RDS/DFS/NPS)
  • Microsoft Azure Active Directory and InTune

Desirable:

  • Microsoft Azure IaaS technologies
  • Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Mimecast
  • Backup Technologies (Veeam and Datto)
  • Firewall Technologies (Sophos UTM/XG, Sonicwall & Cisco Meraki)
  • Detailed knowledge of switching and routing, including VLANs and networking technologies (TCP/IP, VPN, DHCP, DNS, SSL) (Aruba, Cisco, UniFi)
  • Building Wireless networks (Meraki & UniFi)
