Fixed Term General Practitioner - 2 to 4 Sessions

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate General Practitioner to become part of our supportive healthcare team for a fixed duration of 6 to 10 months. The role offers a consistent workload (16 patient consultations per session), a highly competitive remuneration package (up to £14,000 per session), inclusive of medical indemnity coverage, NHS pension scheme, six weeks of annual leave, and one week of study leave on a pro-rata basis. The number of sessions is negotiable.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the practice's clinical team to deliver high-quality care, treatment, and advice to patients through various consultation methods, including face-to-face, telephone, video, and online platforms. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting surgeries, telephone, video, and online consultations
  • Referring patients to external organizations when clinically necessary
  • Managing correspondence and clinical letters
  • Reviewing and acting on test results
  • Prescribing medications in accordance with patient needs and guidelines
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records following best practices
  • Completing reports and medical assessments
  • Engaging in QOF/local contract work as agreed
  • No extended hours commitment, although opportunities are available if desired

The sessions will consist of a fixed workload, with minimal clinical administration tasks and home visits.

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to practice in General Practice within the NHS.

Background Check

This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, necessitating a Disclosure submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to check for any prior criminal convictions.

Compensation ranges from £13,000 to £14,000 per session, negotiable based on experience.
