About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Strategist to join our team as a Principal Transport Strategy Officer. As a key member of our Transport Strategy team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of transportation in Buckinghamshire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of Local Transport Plan 5: You will be responsible for leading the development of our next Local Transport Plan, working closely with teams across the Council to develop new policies and strategies.
• Project manage the delivery of all aspects of the Local Transport Plan: You will project manage the delivery of all aspects of the Local Transport Plan, ensuring its alignment with our new Local Plan for Buckinghamshire.
• Lead the commissioning of technical studies and strategy development: You will lead the commissioning of technical studies and strategy development, responsible for the management of the consultant/client interface.
• Provide strategic transport planning professional advice: You will provide strategic transport planning professional advice, guidance, and support to a range of internal and external customers/stakeholders.
• Effective line management: You will be responsible for the effective line management of a small team of transport strategy officers.
• Transport modelling activity: You will lead on transport modelling activity (technical work outsourced to Atkins) within the Council, requiring awareness of TAG and associated methodology.
• Research and consultations: You will undertake research and consultations to inform recommendations and decision-making within the Service.
• Collate, process, and analyze complex information: You will collate, process, and analyze complex information, recommending, developing, and implementing solutions/interventions.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in transportation planning and policy development.
• Strong understanding of transport modeling and analysis techniques.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
