Job Title: Data Protection Advisor

Legal & General Group is seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Group Risk function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective implementation of data protection policies and procedures across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide expert guidance on data protection and privacy matters, ensuring compliance with GDPR and associated legislation.
  2. Validate core data protection control processes, including records of processing activity, subject access requests, and data protection impact assessments.
  3. Oversee investigations into data breaches, ensuring appropriate internal escalation and production of required reports.
  4. Undertake trend analysis on data privacy and protection risks, breaches, and adherence to required training.
  5. Maintain awareness of industry trends and anticipate their impact on Legal & General, advising senior management on required changes to policies and processes.
  6. Assist the Group Data Protection Officer in reviewing and challenging the implementation of Group Data Protection policies and standards.
  7. Act as the key contact/liaison between the Group DPO and 1st line on data privacy and protection matters.
Requirements:
  1. Relevant Data Protection qualifications, such as the Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection.
  2. Expert knowledge of GDPR and associated data privacy laws.
  3. Good understanding of risk management frameworks and their application in the financial services sector.
  4. Experience in DPA/GDPR application within a large, diverse organization.
