Job Title: Wellbeing Support Specialist

Job Summary:

Mental Health Matters Wales (MHM Wales) is seeking a Wellbeing Support Specialist to join our team. As a Wellbeing Support Specialist, you will be part of a dynamic team providing an out-of-hours support service to adults experiencing a mental health crisis at a wellbeing retreat.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, monitor, and support referred individuals attending the wellbeing retreat on a 1:1 basis.
  • Deliver support interventions based on individual need, working in a trauma-informed way.
  • Work with compassion and understanding to support individuals presenting with anxiety, low mood, self-harming behaviors, social distresses, and suicidal ideation.
  • Develop and deliver peer support groups and workshops.
  • Provide accurate information, signposting, and guidance on how to access services provided by MHM Wales and other relevant third-sector providers.
  • Identify risks in delivering the service and inform management.
  • Encourage, promote, and facilitate participant engagement.
  • Maintain and update accurate records for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting purposes.
  • Attend supervision and team meetings.
  • Understand the services MHM Wales provides and the referral pathways into those services.
  • Manage relationships with community mental health teams to ensure effectiveness of crisis pathways.
  • Recognize and deal with potential risks and awareness of personal safety.

Requirements:

  • Initial training and induction program.
  • Regular supervision, annual appraisal, and personal development meetings.
  • Agreed-on-going training/personal development, including National Vocational Qualifications.
