Are you an experienced warehouse operative seeking greater responsibilities? If you are physically fit and eager for a new opportunity, we have an exciting position for you as a Weighbridge Operator.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary role of the weighbridge operator is to facilitate the efficient functioning of the weighbridge facility, serving as the initial and final point of contact for all personnel and contractors.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Accurately weighing all incoming and outgoing vehicles, documenting weights, and ensuring compliance with established tolerances.
  • Adhering to all legal requirements, company policies, and specific customer protocols.
  • Conducting site inductions for all personnel using the rapid induction system.
  • Monitoring site access to ensure only authorized vehicles and individuals are permitted entry.
  • Distributing site regulations to all drivers.
  • Maintaining hygiene standards in XPO operating areas as specified by contract management.
  • Completing necessary paperwork promptly and accurately.
  • Ensuring all shipments are processed in the SAP system.
  • Complying with all relevant company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Upholding confidentiality regarding company business.
  • Acting professionally to foster positive working relationships and promote the company’s image.
  • Adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards, and understanding the responsibilities associated with the Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
  • Recognizing the importance of quality assurance and adhering to ISO standards.
  • Ensuring a clean and secure work environment by following company policies.
  • Challenging unauthorized individuals on site when necessary.
  • Participating in development training as part of the company’s commitment to employee growth.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a logistics environment.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with XPO Fleet Management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Relevant internal/logistics qualifications.
  • Knowledge of applicable XPO systems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to produce clear and detailed reports.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Results-driven and customer-focused.
  • Approachable and a team player.
  • Competent in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to motivate and develop others.
